Knitted for knits

I am SO glad that it’s starting to get colder because it means I can start to whip out these bad boys again. Now who here is obsessed with knit jumpers? *raises hand*. I’m the first to admit that I have a jumper obsession(sweaters for all you non-Aussies out there). I just feel like you can wear the same jeans and boots everyday of the week and by just changing the jumper it changes the whole outfit. These are my current fave knits in my wardrobe but don’t worry this collection will multiply by a factor of 4 throughout the duration of winter.

Light Pink with black ribbon: I love the back of this one, it has a cut out with a ribbon that adds a lovely touch to it. It is one of my lighter jumpers and has knitted detailing throughout it, which I used as an excuse to convince myself that it was different to my second light pink jumper. I do believe it was $30 from Dotti.

Cream jumper: This was $20 from Ally. It is cropped at the bottom so not good for the coldest days as you don’t want your exterior to catch a chill. I love this one with a light wash jeans and my converse. Super comfortable & soft – everything you need in a knitted jumper.

Light pink cropped jumper: THIS IS SO SOFT. Like really soft. This is my newest purchase from Newlook for about $35. It is semi cropped and has gorgeous puffy sleeves that I can’t wait to whip out with my new black skinny jeans.

Blue/yellowy jumper: I bought this one whilst on a trip to Japan during winter so I can assure you it is a warm one. From UNIGLOW, it is one that is a statement piece on its own or can be worn underneath a bigger coat if you’re from the colder countries(trust me, I’m not).

Grey jumper: This was $10 from Factorie – a bargain. It is quite see through, so depending on your audience you may need to wear a shirt underneath. However, it looks great paired with a bright scarf or a necklace.

Mint jumper: my ALL time fave jumper. So warm, so comfortable, so lovely. This colour is incredible and I love the way it can instantly brighten up an outfit. This jumper isn’t going anywhere soon.

There are more in my wardrobe(I’m sorry I have an addiction) but they will be whipped out on another day. I hope this winter stays cold – I want to get as much wear out of these jumpers as possible. See you soon.

A Winter’s Casual outfit!

This is my go-to outfit for an errands or a normal day in winter. It is just so comfortable and I feel like I can complete all activities in this – you never know when you’re going to have to run for the bus!

Jumper: NewLook $25 and the softest thing I have ever felt. I am so happy in it partly because it reminds me of my pyjamas and also because it is the perfect length. The arm sleeves are cropped meaning you don’t get too hot(a problem I often run into) and it goes down past my waist. I love the colours in it and I like the fact that the it goes with the blue jeans without being too matchy-matchy.

Jeans: okay can we have a couple of minutes to talk about these jeans. Holy moly, never have I found such comfortable jeans in my whole life. I recently wore these on a plane trip – that’s how you know they are really comfy. They are Levis so you do pay the price but I would do it again and again. They give the illusion they are skinny jeans but they don’t fit like that and overall make me want to never take them off. Now that I have expressed my underlying love for these jeans I think we can move on.

Converse: Standard white converse. No mess no fuss just a staple in my cupboard. However, last year I wore mine without socks every time and they started to develop a smell but worry less I picked up a new pair just in time for winter this year. Love them.

Accessories: watch & sunglasses. 2 things I can’t go anywhere without.

I love this outfit so much that I think I need a second pair of everything so I can wear it even when one set is in the wash. Alrighty that’s it. I hope you are all well on whatever corner of the globe you are on.

Good night from rainy Australia.

Day 6 – A winter night out

Winter is just around the corner for Australia and lets be honest there isn’t much of a temperature change between Autumn and Winter down here but nonetheless I used it as an excuse to do some shopping. I have managed to put together my perfect winter night out look. Pair it with a blazer? Sure. Do I own a blazer? No. Don’t worry though, it’s at the top of my ever-growing ‘to buy’ list. I love the monochrome look here and I think a bright pink lip is the perfect way to finish it off.

Top: Let me just say I LOVE this top. I ordered it online from Newlook and it is one of those items that is a statement piece in itself even though it is black and white. And it wins the award for first checkered shirt in my wardrobe. Weird, right? Took me long enough to jump on that band wagon. It is like a soft, wetsuit material so quite thick, and perfect for winter.

Jeans: these are just your basic black skinny jeans. An essential piece for any winter wardrobe. I had to purchase a second pair of these just because I wear them so much in winter and at some point they need to be washed and what do I wear when they are in the wash? My second pair. I JUST LOVE JEANS, ok? Cool. I got these ones from Sportsgirl in Australia for $90AUD and I’m sure I could get some cheaper somewhere else but I wanted really soft and comfortable ones and that I did. Side note: I do have to get these altered because I am so small they are too long.

Necklace: Another Newlook purchase. I like the way it sticks with a monochrome these whilst also adding a different layer to the outfit(#fashionwriter)

Shoes:  elegant, classic & classy. 3 brilliant words to define a pair of brilliant shoes. Pair them with anything to dress up an outfit. I love, I die. However, I must wear them somewhere with seating because my tootsies can also die throughout the night. Beauty is pain right ladies? These ones were $50AUD from Bardot.
Watch: I could go on for years about my love for this Marc Jacobs watch. But I won’t. Just know that this is my fave item of jewellery and I wear it all day everyday. It’s like a second skin, that is not waterproof and can smash but looks great.

There we have it, I just wished I had somewhere to wear this outfit. But sadly this exam break is causing me to wear a lot more pyjamas then heels, however I am comfy ALL the time. You win some you loose some right?

Day 5 – 3 Step Makeup Routine

Hiiiiya! Alright now I don’t want this to sound narcissistic but if I had to choose something positive about my body(#bodyconfidence etc etc) it would be my skin. Let me preface this by saying I wasn’t born with good skin, infact I was born with terrible acne(well not born with it haha can you imagine a baby with acne – I mean I developed it as a teen). But when I was about 13/14 I went on Roaccutane. A drug that dries out your skin to remove pimples. I was only on it for 6 months but it totally did the trick.

So as a result of this I don’t wear foundation, weird for a girl I know. But I just don’t see the need for it and I HATE the feel of it. This does make my makeup routine very minimal and on a day to day basis I am fresh faced. But when I do go out a prefer a statement lip. I find that a statement lip can give the illusion that you are wearing tones of makeup when you’re not? Anyone else feel this? Just me? ok…

Anyway on this particular night I was off to Jason Derulo(don’t judge me, concert was fab). But my makeup routine consisted of 3 steps.

So this was me before makeup – excuse the serious face. I think I was thinking about Jason Derulo naked or something…

Step 1: Concealer

I like to use this Rimmel Match Perfection in the colour soft beige. It has good coverage and lasts the whole night – even without a primer. I only put this on the dark circles around my eyes to even out the colour. Depending on my time I will use my ring finger or the Napoleon Foundation brush. I also enjoy the way it comes out – a squeezy tube, no mess, no fuss.

Step 2: MascaraImage

Maybelline The Falsies, need I say anymore? It’s raved about by bloggers so you know the drill. Big lashes in little time. I love it on my top lashes but I find that sometimes I can tend to over apply on my lower lashes and they start to look like spider legs. But it is waterproof and doesn’t smudge at all! All you need in a mascara.

Step 3: Lips

Lips are my fave fave part. I like to use double lip colours to find a colour that suits me just right. Today I used a Burts Bees Lip Shimmer and Lancome Juicy Tube. My trick to big lips lasting for a night is to blot. I apply the colour then press my lips down on a tissue then apply again. A life saving tip I learnt from my grandma that will stop you from going to apply lipstick even half hour.

Okay, give me a couple of minutes to talk about this Burts Bees product guys. Image

It’s incredible. It smells amazing – like mint and makes me want to use it as a breath freshener(which I don’t, don’t worry). But to way is applies is even more amazing. It’s like you can instantly feel it softening your lips whilst simultaneously giving you a gorgeous
colour. My lips get very dry no matter what lipstick I use so this has been a lifesaver. It has a slight shimmer to it but nothing too noticeable. Now it is quite a dark red so I paired it with this Lancome pink lip gloss to make it more of a softer red.

This lipgloss it sticky so a nightmare when you have your hair down(am I right girls??) but apart from that it is a lovely pink colour which matches perfectly with my red lips. A combo I LOVE!

So here is the completed look. Easy, long lasting & comfortable!

I hope you enjoyed that, lord knows I need to improve on blog pictures but I have a maths exam tomorrow so my priorities are there! I know I did no other eye makeup but I haven’t quite nailed that aspect of my routine. Give me time! Below is a picture of all products used. I hope you all have/had a great day.

Day 2 – The most beautiful places in the world!

Look, lets paint a picture. One evening procrastinating I stumbled upon this tumblr of the most incredible photos. Naturally, I saved them and made them into a rolling wall paper with each of these pictures coming onto my screen for 1 minute at a time. I mean it really is a recipe for disaster – I’m doing homework then I see one of the pictures and imagine myself being in these places for a good 30 minutes. So I pass my procrastination recipe onto you.

You’re welcome my friends.

Imagine sipping a cup of tea whilst reading a book in this class house!
